ENGAGED EMPLOYEES LEAD TO BETTER, SUCCESSFUL EMPLOYEES.

Employees who feel connected, valued and listened to, work harder and stay longer. Engagement touches every step of the employee lifecycle and has a huge impact on all areas of the business, from turnover and productivity to end customer experience.

Sometimes, due to larger factors such as changes to management or organisational structure, the workplace culture changes causing employees to become unmotivated and disengaged from both their role and the business.

Currently, the UK is facing a disengagement crisis, at a reported 61% of employees disconnected. It is estimated that disengaged employees are costing the UK economy £340 billion every year in lost training and recruitment costs, sick days, productivity, creativity and innovation.

Employee Wellbeing plays a huge role in creating a happy, motivated and engaged workforce, which in turn leads to improved business success for you, your team and your clients.

Don’t know where to start? Don’t worry, we can help.

What benefits can employee wellbeing bring to your business?

Higher Employee Satisfaction

With most of our adult lives spent at work, it is crucial that employers ensure their employees are happy and satisfied within their role.

The satisfaction of your workforce impacts your overall employer brand including your ability to attract and retain talent as well as impacting your productivity, customer experience and bottom line.

Satisfied employees feel a greater sense of purpose and connection within the business and often go above and beyond to produce quality work and enhance your employer brand.

Higher Retention And Lower Turnover

According to a 2017 report by Gallup; 51% of workers are looking to leave their current job.

Hiring, onboarding and upskilling new employees is a very expensive and time consuming process, often taking up the time of other resources which has a knock on effect on your productivity.

Investing in employee wellbeing and engagement helps you to decrease your turnover rates, saving you money and ensuring that you retain your top talent, their skills and knowledge.

Higher Productivity

Engaged employees work faster, harder and stronger because they enjoy what they do. It’s a no-brainer; when you’re interested in and connected to what you’re doing, you are more likely to do it well.

Gallup reports that; Engaged employees are 17% more productive.

As an employer, higher productivity can lead to increased business growth and development as well as financial benefits. Furthermore, when employees are engaged and feel valued by their managers and employers, they often feel a sense of responsibility to reciprocate this by putting in their best effort.

Increased Profitability

Of course, when your employees feel good at work, they work harder, and when they work harder they produce more quality work which in turn leads to a better customer experience and an overall happy customer. Happy customers, similar to happy employees, tend to remain loyal and refer others to your company.

Without a solid foundation, internally, no company can thrive. So many organisations focus on external factors to influence profitability but investing internally in your most valuable resource, your people, is the most simple and effective way of increasing your overall profitability in a sustained and effective way.

Less Absenteeism

Absenteeism costs UK employers billions per year in sick pay, lost working days or temporary cover. Absenteeism has an affect on more than the bottomline, it can impact the morale of other employees who have to pick up additional work, it causes issues with resource planning and overall productivity.

Highly engaged businesses in recent research have realised 41% reduction in absenteeism.

Disengaged employees lack a enthusiasm for both their role and employer. Some may suffer from stress as a result and need to take prolonged periods of time off sick, others however, don’t feel a sense of responsibility to the company they work for, so have no problem with simply not showing up.

Creating a positive working environment and fostering a motivated, passionate culture in which your employees feel valued and supported will help you safeguard against high levels of absenteeism.

Increased Employee Loyalty

A huge benefit of having engaged employees is that they are loyal to your company and therefore act as company ambassadors.

Engaged employees can have a huge impact on your employer brand, which can be the difference between the success and failure of, not only your recruitment drives but also your customers perceptions of you.

How businesses’ treat their employees has become more and more important to consumers when making supplier decisions and so having a motivated, engaged and loyal workforce can help put you one step ahead of the competition.

Our services include:

  • Ad Hoc and structured Telephone Counselling Support
  • Face to Face Counselling
  • cCBT (On-line CBT)
  • E-counselling

The Clover Care online portal gives you access to hundreds of downloadable self-help sheets. You can also listen to podcasts, sign up to newsletters and access secure, confidential online counselling.

Benefits of EAP

One in four people in the UK will have a mental health problem at some point. And while these problems will often not be work-related, the truth is they will affect people’s happiness, wellbeing and productivity in all areas of life, including at work.

An Employee Assistance Programme is an invaluable tool for ensuring that good mental health is promoted and facilitated in an organisation, promoting employee wellbeing and ultimately minimising the impact of mental health problems on employee’s work.

Whether you want to minimise stress, reduce absence, manage trauma or address a specific workplace issue, our clinical expertise and flexible approach means we can deliver a quality service that will increase the value of your workforce.

Following a very difficult year and in response to feedback from staff, Clover HR delivered an informative and value-adding session on Mental Health Awareness for our Employees and Managers.

The session was very well received, and we are now more aware and better equipped to manage these issues and challenges in the workplace.  We valued the session hugely and would recommend Clover HR without hesitation for any Mental Health related Training.
