Michael Doolin founded the business in 2017 with a clear and powerful vision: to provide world-class HR support to businesses across the UK. What began as a desire to help organisations navigate people matters with confidence quickly grew into a trusted, nationwide service. Michael built a team of dedicated HR professionals across the UK, united by shared values and a commitment to delivering bespoke, compliant, and genuinely personable support to every client.
Drawing on more than 35 years’ experience in senior HR roles, Michael built Clover HR into a thriving nationwide business, supporting over 145 clients every day with a team of more than 40 HR professionals across the UK. His deep understanding of diverse working environments, from highly unionised organisations to fast-paced, non-unionised sectors, shaped his belief that no two businesses are the same.
This experience drove Michael’s commitment to providing bespoke, compliant, and genuinely personable HR support, carefully aligned to each client’s commercial and people needs. The culture he created, rooted in professionalism, trust, and humanity, continues to define Clover HR today.
Michael was an extraordinary man. He was generous, kind, and deeply invested in people. He believed in bringing out the best in everyone, encouraging those around him to reach their full potential and become the best version of themselves. This belief shaped not only the culture of the business he created, but also the many lives he touched along the way.
Beyond being an exceptional leader and businessman, Michael was, above all else, a devoted father, son, brother, partner, and friend. He gave the same care, integrity, and compassion to his family and relationships as he did to his work.
Michael passed away in December 2025 after a short illness with cancer. His loss is felt deeply by all who knew him, worked with him, and were inspired by him. He will always be remembered for his humanity, his vision, and the legacy he leaves behind.
